Dentistry

Many oral and dental health diseases arise as a result of neglect. Oral and dental diseases and treatment are examined under multiple headings.

Bonding

Bonding is a common solution for:

  • Fixing or repairing chipped or cracked teeth
  • Reduce gaps between teeth
  • Hide color fading or faded areas on the tooth surface

Usually, composite bonding is used to improve the appearance of the teeth and to increase your smile. As the name implies, the composite material, a plastic or resin, is attached to an existing tooth. Unlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding will remove a small amount if the original tooth is present.

Composite bonding has many advantages:

  • It is usually a fast process that takes less than an hour
  • It does not reduce the original structure of the tooth and is relatively inexpensive
  • Composite resins come in many different colors and provide better matching of shadows to the natural color of your teeth
  • However, composite bonds are not as durable and durable as coatings and crowns, and may be touched or replaced in the future

Composite bonds are more easily stained and therefore require proper maintenance and regular cleaning. Composites should be brushed and flushed every day to ensure the adhesion is as long as possible. Common painting elements include coffee, tea, tobacco, food and sugar.

Braces

Children, young or adults who have problems with their teeth, irregular alignment, and similar problems can have braces. Dental braces treatment is one of the most painless dental treatments. The brackets placed on the teeth are fixed by the bonding process. There are no holes in the tooth surface. After bonding the brackets, the arc bars are fixed by passing them through the appropriate grooves in the brackets.

The disorder in the teeth is the most important factor determining the duration of treatment. Some minor disorders can be corrected within 5-6 months. However, if there is a large amount of dysfunction in the teeth, the duration of treatment may be longer than 2 years. This is not a difficult process to get used to. A large number of patients are used to the wires within 2-4 weeks; even a part of you can forget that at times the braces is in your mouth

Implants

Implant is a titanium screw system used to make prosthesis on tooth deficiencies. Dental implants placed in the jawbone serve as a tooth root. In single tooth deficiencies, it is possible to complete incomplete teeth without touching neighbouring healthy teeth and to use fixed dentures instead of movable dentures in multiple tooth deficiencies. It is possible to fix the fixed prosthesis which is difficult to use in the lower jaw, especially in the lower jaw, with implants.

At the end of the implant treatment, the completion of the prosthesis takes longer than the conventional treatments because it takes 2 to 4 months for the titanium structure to be integrated into the bone, and if there is any intervention in the jaw bone or if the sinus cavity is removed in the upper jaw, it should wait for 6 months. However, the results obtained at the end of this period are quite satisfactory and last longer.

Especially for patients who have been toothless for many years, the existing prostheses start to move and lose their harmony in the bone and cause them to move. Prosthetics on the implant are made on a fixed foundation and therefore do not have the ability to move or eject.

Implant treatment is a painless operation because it is performed under local anaesthesia. Prescribed medications should be taken before the operation. The use of antiseptic mouthwashes is necessary after the procedure. The healing process is comfortable with regular oral care.

Light swelling or color changes in the cheek are expected, but the first 24 hours of cold tampon application will decrease the edema quickly. Severe pain is not observed. The pain medications recommended by the doctor are sufficient to easily control the pain that may occur on the first day.

The implants are expected to be fused with surrounding bone in the upper jaw for 3 months and in the lower jaw at 2 months. Porcelain veneers are applied to the implants. If additional procedures are performed in the presence of a thin or insufficient height bone, the waiting period can be extended to 6 months.

Dental implants are made of titanium. Titanium, which is highly biocompatible with the human body, is a non-toxic precious metal that does not create any risk of allergy.

Dental implant can be used for many years as long as dental care is well done.

Crowns and Caps

A crown or cap is a cover that fits over a tooth. Why are teeth covered? Deep caries, fractures, loss of substance, color problems may occur in the teeth. Teeth with such integrity deteriorated may need to be covered with stiff materials or with hardness to make them appear aesthetically pleasing and to restore their strength.

Protheses

Prostheses are all artificial materials that are prepared for the purpose of reintegrating the needs of the functions such as chewing and speaking of the teeth lost in the mouth due to various reasons.

In the prosthesis, the lost oral health is corrected. For this purpose, lost lip, cheek support, speech function, chewing function and the aesthetic image is recovered. Psychological support of individuals who have to live with missing or ruined teeth and who have forgotten to laugh. It is aimed to improve the quality of life of people with prostheses.

Types of prostheses:

  • Fixed prostheses: Adhesion prostheses, such as crown-bridges, which the patient cannot remove.
  • Total prostheses: Applies to mouths where all teeth are missing.
  • Partial prostheses: Partially applied to the mouth without teeth. Retention is provided by the nails and hooks on the teeth.
  • Precision Hold Prostheses: Partially applied to the mouths without teeth. They are aesthetic prostheses that do not have any externally visible apparatus such as hooks.

Teeth Whitening (Bleaching)

Teeth whitening is an aesthetic dentistry application which is applied to eliminate the color and appearance disorders on tooth surfaces. Teeth whitening, which eliminates aesthetic concerns, prevents the effects of the person’s appearance on the life of the teeth and increases their self-confidence in their work and social life, can be applied at any age. Bleaching processes that eliminate the discoloration caused by organic or inorganic substances on the surface of the teeth are effective in the formation of oral health.

Types of bleaching:

  • Chemical Bleaching: Chemical Bleaching is one of the most preferred methods of teeth whitening. In this method, the teeth whitening gel is applied to the teeth with the help of specially made teeth molds. However, caution should be exercised as it may have some negative effect on tooth enamel.
  • Photothermal Bleaching: It is a tooth whitening method applied with the help of light.
  • Photochemical Bleaching: In the photochemical bleaching method, the bleaching gel is activated using a UV lamp (blue light) or a KTP laser (green light). The light source used also has a whitening effect. Environmental tissues must be protected against injury when using UV-Light.
