Things to consider before surgery

If it is decided that the patient is eligible for the surgery as a result of consultation, the doctor’s recommendations should be followed until the day of surgery. Especially;

  • The use of tobacco products creates negative consequences for and after such surgical procedures. For this reason, such consumption should be quitted at least 1 week before the operation.
  • Also, the use of drugs that dilute the blood should be stopped some time before surgery.

Things to consider after surgery

The period after the operation is very important. Tobacco products and blood thinning medications should not be used as the period of recovery begins. One day after the operation, the patient should stay in hospital and should be rested for 1 week after discharge. In addition, the doctor’s recommendations should be followed, hard work-outs and exercises should be avoided, make-up, cosmetics and chemical products should not be used for a certain period of time, shower with hot water should be avoided.

Recovery process

After the operation, bruises, swelling, edema and some temporary scars occur. The medication recommended by your doctor should be used for these to heal. In time, swelling and bruises disappear, and the tissues become more natural by improving. Towards the final stages of healing, the traces of surgery, stitch marks become natural in proportion to the skin color and their appearance disappears.
