Liposuction

Liposuction is the removal of fats which do not melt and cause non-aesthetic images by surgical intervention. This procedure is performed by removing the subcutaneous fat tissues with a vacuum device. The patient does not feel any pain because the operation is performed under anesthesia.

What is the type of anesthesia?

The type of anesthesia is determined according to the type of operation. If the liposuction procedure is to be applied in the small areas, the relaxing medicines combined with local anesthesia are administered to the patient before the operation. General anesthesia is more appropriate if liposuction is to be performed in a large area of the body.

What are the operation steps?

  • First, the appropriate anesthesia type is administered to the patient in the appropriate manner and at the dose.
  • The surgeon opens the incisions to the designated places.
  • From the opened incisions, the excess pressure is taken with the device that presses the vacuum in the opposite direction.
  • The operation incision of 2 cm depth is closed and the operation is terminated.

How much fat is taken with liposuction procedure?

This varies from patient to patient. The amount of fat to be taken in each patient is different. The determination is made according to the weight of the patient and the amount of fat that can be taken in the problem area. There is a certain limit of fats in all regions. This limit can sometimes be 3 kilos of fat and sometimes 6 kilos of fat.

Which areas can liposuction be applied?

This process can be applied in almost all areas where unwanted fats are clustered.

  • Abdominal
  • Base
  • Cellulite areas
  • Leg – calf
  • Arm
  • Back
  • Belly

Pre-operative: First of all the doctor is examined the patient and it is determined which areas should be taken. If the patient does not have an obstacle for taking anesthesia and operation, the operation plan is determined.

Post-operative: The first step after the operation, the patient should be wearing a special corset. This corset is both shapers and prevents possible swelling, edema, and leaks of unwanted fluids. Then the patient should follow the doctor’s recommendations and use the necessary pain relievers. Painkillers used for headaches after this operation are enough. One week after the operation, water, cosmetic products, chemicals should not be brought into contact with the treated area.

Recovery Process

The most important thing in this process is the recommendations of the doctor. With this method, which has been done for many years, problems in the healing process have not been encountered frequently.

After 1 week of rest after the operation patient can return to daily life. The operation area should be protected and post-operative corset should be used.

Is the surgery risky?

Liposuction has a small amount of risks, such as any surgery under anesthesia. These risks are the problems that may occur in bleeding and infection. To avoid such problems, the surgeon and the clinic who will perform the liposuction operation should be selected well. A sterile environment is very important for such operations.

Why is it important to use a special corset after liposuction?

The corset is both a means of shaping and making the healing process healthy and fast. With the removal of adipose tissues, it softens in other oils and needs to be formed and possible blood and other liquid leaks are a little. In addition, swelling and edema recovery should be lost faster. For these reasons, the use of the corset should be used within the period determined by the doctor.
