Breast Augmentation

There are cases where the breasts are not of the desired size for many reasons. In these cases, operations performed with silicone implant placement are called breast augmentation surgery.

Surgery Process

Surgery is performed under general anesthesia in the hospital. The duration of operation is between 1.5 and 3 hours depending on the technique and scope of the operation. At the end of the operation, dressing is done. Special bras without underwiring are used to avoid the oedema and pain. The patient may stand up a few hours after the operation. She is discharged one day later. Spending the night in the hospital is useful for keeping a close watch on the bed position, pain control and possible complications.

Pain after Breast Augmentation Surgery

The patient may have pain in the first two days. On the first day, pain is relieved by intravenous painkillers and pills taken after discharge. The intensity of pain varies from person to person.

Recovery process

The patient should rest as much as possible in the first two days. Strain in the muscles and arm movements can cause pain. There may be swelling in the breasts during this period. After the first two days, the pain decreases, the arm movements relax and the swelling decreases. To ensure that the breast is shaped with the prosthesis, the bra given after the surgery should be worn for 1.5 months. On the third day after the operation, the patient may return to her daily life.
