Facial Fat Transfer
With the aging of the facial area, subcutaneous adipose tissue decreases. The aesthetic appearance of the face disappears with the loss of elasticity of the tissues. The purpose of facial fat transfer is to eliminate these fat tissue losses by providing fullness, deep wrinkle removal and fat injection.
Areas where facial fat transfer is done commonly:
- Temporal area
- Under eye
- Marionette lines
- Jaw area
- Tear trough
- Between the eyebrows
The use of aspirin and derivative drugs should be discontinued for 1 week before surgery. The fat to be injected is usually taken from the abdomen, waist, or any suitable body area with special vacuum cannulas. After a special procedure, the fat tissue is injected with special tips. This can be done alone or in combination with other operations. The operation is performed under local anesthesia in small areas and under general anesthesia in larger areas. The operation lasts between half and 1 hour.
The patient is discharged on the same day. The patient can be returned to his daily life after 1 day. It is natural to have edema after the operation. It is more prominent especially on lips. This edema goes away in a few days. There is no need to dressing and stitching. The effects of the operation are usually noticed after the second week.
