Thigh Lift

Physical changes occur in the legs, such as loss of skin elasticity and decreased fat tissue due to aging. Frequent weight gain, excessive weight loss, and the effect of gravity causes the problem of sagging. This also causes other problems such as sweating and rash. It is more accurate to apply liposuction, which is not an ophthalmologic method, in patients who have an excess of fat on the inner side of the leg and who do not have a sagging skin. If the tissues have not lost their vitality, it is possible to take the fats of this area with liposuction. However, liposuction surgery is not the right choice if there are loosening of the skin depending on the progress of age. In this case, it is more appropriate to remove excess fat from the skin with the excess skin and provide normal skin tension. Thigh lift surgery is performed in these cases.

Surgery process

During thigh lift surgery, the sags on the inner leg just below the pubic area are hidden in the skin. This lifted skin creates an aesthetic view.

The dilation and sagging of the skin may start from the groin and continue downwards. In this case, the skin cannot be concealed. A portion of the skin should be removed. In this process, the excess skin is cut and removed to provide a lifted view in the thigh. If the skin is too thick for lifting, this is done in conjunction with liposuction. After the liposuction procedure, stretching can be performed to prevent sagging of the skin. In the process where the excess skin is removed, a straight line is left on the inside of the leg. These traces do not create a great visual distress. There are also treatments for traces.
General anesthesia is performed during the thigh lifting. That’s why the patient stays in the hospital one day. In order to prevent the accumulation of liquids after the process, a drain can be placed on the leg. The corset is used for a period of one month after the procedure.

Recovery process

Thigh lift surgery is an operation requiring general anesthesia. It takes approximately 2 hours. One day stay in hospital is enough. Postoperative pain is mild. The mild pain you will experience with pain relieving medications will not disturb the patient. The patient can stand up the same day. After the surgery, there may be swelling and bruising on the inner face of the leg. The swelling and bruising may last for a few weeks. The patient is able to do air travel 2-3 days after the operation. Bathing can be done 2-3 days after surgery. The period of recovery varies greatly from person to person. Full recovery is achieved in about 7-10 days. Work that requires power and sporty movements can be started after 4 weeks.
