Prostate Treatment

Prostate is a secretory gland located at the exit of the bladder in men and its main function is reproduction. It is one of the most problematic organs in the male body. Over time, diseases may occur in the prostate gland. The rate of incidence of these diseases, which can occur in the 30s, is 50%, when men reach their 50s.

Types of prostate diseases

Prostate diseases are examined under three headings:

  • Prostate inflammation
  • Prostate enlargement
  • Prostate cancer

Symptoms of prostate diseases

Difficulty in starting and ending urination, weak and intermittent urine output, burning in urine, need for frequent voiding, feeling of urinary emptying of the bladder, frequent urination at night, sudden urination, blood in urine and semen, pain in the groin and hip areas.

Prostate treatment

Prostate enlargement starts in the 40s and continues until the end of human life. It is generally seen as benign. Although it is seen with aging, the cause has not been found. In the treatment of prostate enlargement, the lifestyle and toilet habits of the patient are first observed and arrangements are made. The second step is drug treatment. If the patient does not respond to these treatments, surgical treatment is recommended.

The incidence of prostate inflammation in the 50-year-old group is 10%. Treatment approaches vary according to the state of the inflammation. During treatment, methods such as antibiotics, painkillers and prostate massage can be used.

In prostate cancer, the stage of cancer, growth rate, extent of spread, treatment approaches vary according to the general health status of the patient. The most common method is surgery. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy are also preferred methods.
